REFUGEE LIFELINE

What is Refugee Lifeline?
Refugee Lifeline is a national collaborative project recently created by RASNZ and Lifeline Aotearoa to meet a vital need. Refugee Lifeline is a free, confidential telephone counselling service that provides emotional support to people living in New Zealand who have arrived as refugees.

The service is offered in Arabic, Burmese and Farsi/Dari languages. Dinka speaking counsellors are also available. Refugee Lifeline is a national service, you can call toll-free from ANYWHERE in New Zealand.

When you call Refugee Lifeline you will speak to a highly trained and professional counsellor who shares your language and culture. All counsellors are committed to ongoing professional development and are required to undertake professional supervision in their work. Many counsellors will be people who arrived in New Zealand as refugees or backgrounds just like you.

Sometime, life in a new country can be stressful, lonely and frustrating. We are here to help. It is totally safe to talk with us about anything troubling you. We will not ask for your name or any personal details. Everything is confidential and anonymous.
